The tower of Tsikaliotis is a historical monument that was built in 1808 on older foundation it can be found in the centre of Leonidion. It belonged to Costantinos Tsikaliotis one of the oldest, richest and important families of Tsakonia. He was a member of a company and contributed in several ways to the fight for independence both financially and with supplies.

The tower is a stone building with Byzantine traits. It is a two storey building in the shape of an L which is Characteristic to Tsakonon houses. On the lower floor are large and small Kamares with spaces between to help structure of the building, and has kept the building in excellent condition to this day, two centuries from the time it was built. It haw two characteristic types of defence construction that the worldwide traveller turned into a real fort, with uncountable fighters and guns, A 3.5metre high wall protected the building, it also had an ocen, wells and hugestore rooms for supplies.

In 1960 the mayor of Leonidion Stelios Merikakis realized the historical value of the building an bought the tower on behalf of the townhall. Today the Tower of Tsikaliotis visitors can find furnitures, carpets and utensils from that age in time. The townhall of Leonidion turned the building into a museum and exhibition centre using the lower floors of the building mainly for art and jewellery exhibitions.
