Just 9km from Leonidion is the beautiful seaside village of Poulithra. Research by the archeologist Constantinos Romeos shows that the ancient town of Polichni, metioned by the historical Polivio can be found here.

Today in the swampy areas of the village there are signs of an ancient harbour. On top of the hill Vigla there are the ruins of an ancient castle and walk from the Byzantine age.

In the summer months visitors can enjoy swimming ine the clear blue waters by the pebble beaches or just enjoy the wonderful view drinking coffee at one of the traditional coffee bars. Finaly seafood dishes, and local food can be enjoyed at one of the many restaurants.
